Air Purification & Filtration Systems
Haley Mechanical has the air purification and air cleaning systems you need to keep your home's air quality clean and fresh.
In today’s world, pollution is everywhere. And with the type of cleaning products, manufactured goods, and everyday living within your home, indoor environments can become very uncomfortable. Even the air we consider to be “fresh” outdoor air has as many as 30 million dust or pollutant particles per cubic foot.
At a basic level, an air filtration system should clean out the particles that cause irritation such as pollen, spores, dust and other contaminates that circulate in our homes everyday. In order for any air filtration to work correctly, the particles need to pass through it. Hence, if the particles are not airborne (i.e., dust on furniture), it is unreasonable to assume that these particles will be removed.
However, a good air cleaner will:
- Remove allergy-causing particles that pass through it.
- Perform well consistently.
- Be economical to maintain.
- Handle a large volume of air efficiently.
Cleaning the air inside your home is more important now than it ever has been. Beginning with the energy crisis of the 1970s, new construction homes have become better insulated to prevent the escape of heated or cooled air. These air-tight, energy-efficient homes also seal in dust, dirt, pollen, mold, skin flakes, bacteria and other airborne pollutants. These pollutants settle on your furnishings, your woodwork, and even in your lungs.

For many allergy sufferers, pollen is actually just one part of a three-pronged attack. The other two culprits, mold and dust, silently lie and wait for you inside your home. Pollen-induced allergies can be worse in the spring and fall, but allergies to mold and dust are year-round plagues.
Once an allergy has been identified, the next step is to decrease or eliminate exposure to the allergen.Air filtration systems can aid some people by decreasing exposure to allergens. Evidence shows that allergy and asthma symptoms may improve over time, if the recommended environmental control changes are made. Many of the changes are for the entire home. The bedroom is the most important, because the bedroom is where people usually spend 1/3 to 1/2 of their time.
While you can't do anything to control the pollen outside, you can take steps to reduce allergy triggers in your home. Your air filtration system must be carefully selected and properly maintained. Haley's Circle of Comfort addresses all of these issues with a thorough analysis of your home environment.
Airborne irritants are simply a fact of life. Molds can cause flare-ups of allergy symptoms, and in some cases, trigger asthma attacks. Bacteria, viruses and germs also can reside in the air you breathe every day. These airborne pollutants can effect your home comfort equipment, too. Allowed to circulate through your home and your system, these and other particles can build up on the indoor coil, inhibiting airflow and reducing heating and cooling efficiency.
When you put your home’s air under a microscope, you may find that what you can’t see CAN hurt you and your system.
Air cleaners and filters can do a great job trapping airborne particles. A UV Germicidal Light goes one step further, using ultraviolet light to actually destroy them by penetrating down to the DNA.
Mounted inside your system near the indoor coil, small lamps direct UV light to the source of potential fungal and microbial growth. Once activated, the UV Light goes to work right away, cleaning the indoor coil.
Using ultraviolet light for cleaning/sanitizing is not a totally new idea. In fact, ultraviolet light has been used for years as a sterilization agent in medical food processing applications. All you have to do is replace the lamps once a year, then sit back and enjoy the benefits of greatly enhanced indoor air quality.
